meet the chef

Adam Greenberg has been seen on the Food Network several times as a 4-0 competitor on Chopped (Grand Champion tournament winner), as well as beating Bobby Flay, and judging on his show. Adam was most recently on Guy's Grocery Games, where he finished runner-up on the show with a chance to be on Tournament of Champions. Adam was most recently the owner of Coconut Club in Washington, DC, which unfortunately closed due to covid. Adam has moved back to his home state of CT, and has partnered on Sparrow in the very town he grew up in, West Hartford. In addition to Sparrow, Adam will be launching multiple concepts out the back of the building under the name "Back Door Kitchen", or "BDK" as he calls it. Under that umbrella you can expect to see his subs concept, "Subbies", a salad concept, and "Poppy's Provisions", named after his grandfather Poppy Greenberg. Poppy's will feature some Jewish classics like Matzoh Ball Soup and Brisket Dinners.

"Home is where the heart is, and it sure feels great to be home. I look forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces and bringing something we're very proud of to the town"
